In Payday 3, the “Dirty Ice” mission presents a thrilling challenge as it involves robbing Ashton Fine Jewelry, a front for an international gem cartel trafficking in conflict diamonds. While the option to grab whatever jewels you can and make a hasty exit exists, the key to maximizing your gains lies in using a hard-to-access sorting machine to ensure your loot remains untraceable. Success in this heist hinges on speed, as a swift execution means facing fewer elite cops once the heat is on.
How to Stop the Armored Truck

At the mission’s onset, resist the urge to rush forward immediately. Instead, locate a crate right in front of you, which holds the EMP Device crucial for disabling the truck. Shade will highlight this crate shortly after your arrival, but you can save time by opening it before her cue.
Now, you have a mere ninety seconds to transport the EMP Device to the far end of the bridge, place it in the designated spot, and activate it. Expect to encounter civilian construction workers who will spot you. You’ll need to intimidate and secure them. If even one worker manages to escape and call for help before the truck arrives, or if the truck passes before the EMP Device is operational, you’ll be forced to abort the heist.
Escorting the Truck
Once the truck is disabled, Shade will draw your attention to another randomly placed crate located a short distance back along the bridge. Inside, you’ll find the remote steering device. Carry it to the passenger side of the truck, install it, and activate it. After a few moments, Shade will take control of the truck and start moving it toward the objective.

The truck can only advance if at least one player is within a certain proximity. An orange circle indicates that no one is close enough, causing the truck to halt.
The truck’s route is randomly generated, and you should be prepared for two scenarios:
Left-Hand Route
If the truck follows the left side of the bridge, it will encounter fewer obstacles but offer less cover. Stick to the left side of the truck to avoid sniper fire. Around halfway, you’ll encounter a fence that needs opening, usually near an electrical box on the near side.
Right-Hand Route
If the truck takes the right side, gather wheel ramps near the cargo container and the unused left side of the bridge. You’ll need these ramps to bridge gaps in the road, ensuring the truck’s progress.
Near the route’s end, the truck may be blocked by a forklift, necessitating interaction to clear the path.
How to Break Into the Truck

At the route’s conclusion, Shade will guide the truck onto a raised ramp. Players can crouch beneath it. Once the truck comes to a stop, attach a drill to the highlighted panel beneath the vehicle. After the drill completes its work, remove the panel and cut the wires to access the truck’s cargo.
Inside, you’ll find multiple safe deposit boxes. One player should start opening and looting them, while the others fend off incoming enemies. Once you’ve secured a cache of rare elements, you can signal the helicopter for extraction.
How to Escape the Armored Truck Heist
A flare will appear mid-bridge, signaling the extraction point. Activate it to summon the helicopter. Listen to Shade for the chopper’s approach, which can be from the north or south side of the bridge.

Once the helicopter arrives, bags of loot can be thrown over the bridge’s side to secure them onto the aircraft. However, you can’t leave until you’ve secured the minimum number of rare elements indicated by Shade. While bags of cash earn you extra money, the rare elements are your primary objective.
When you’ve collected enough loot, you can exit at any time by returning to the bridge’s initial point where you disabled the truck. Stick to the left side, and you’ll find highlighted safety netting that can be cut to reveal a path.
Descend the scaffolding, gather at the extraction point with your teammates, and rappel to safety to conclude the heist.
Mastering the Dirty Ice Heist in Payday 3 requires precision, teamwork, and the strategies outlined in this guide. Follow these steps to maximize your earnings and ensure a successful heist operation.
