The official website for the television anime adaptation of Yuu Morikawa’s manga “Mr. Villain’s Day Off” (Kyūjitsu no Warumono-san) has released the anime’s first full promotional video and a new visual. These updates reveal additional cast and staff members and confirm the anime’s premiere date in January 2024. Additionally, the website has unveiled the artists responsible for the anime’s theme songs. The opening theme will be performed by singer Ivudot, while the band GLASGOW is in charge of the ending theme.
The protagonist, Warumono-san (General), will be voiced by Shintarō Asanuma.

Directed by Yoshinori Odaka (known for “B-Daman CrossFire” and “2019 BEM”), the anime is a collaborative effort between Shinei Animation and Synergy SP. Midori Gotou (known for “Hozuki’s Coolheadedness” all three seasons) is overseeing the series scripts, and Tomomi Shimazaki (known for “Elegant Yokai Apartment Life”) is designing the characters for animation. Nobuaki Nobusawa (known for “Dagashi Kashi” and “Steins;Gate 0”) is composing the music.
Square Enix’s global Manga UP! website is publishing the manga in English. The series follows the story of an extraterrestrial known as the “General” from an evil organization trying to take over Earth. He battles Earth’s defenders every day, except for one special day: his day off.
Morikawa initially launched the manga on the Gangan pixiv website in 2018, and Square Enix released the fifth compiled book volume on April 21, 2023.
This anime adaptation promises a unique and entertaining storyline, making it a highly anticipated release for fans of the original manga and newcomers alike.
