CD Projekt Red has announced a new patch for Cyberpunk 2077, coming just a few weeks after the release of the 2.0 update. While the 2.0 update brought significant gameplay overhauls and bug fixes, the game still has its fair share of glitches.

This new patch, as detailed on the CD Projekt Red website, addresses various issues, both platform-specific and across all releases. Many of these fixes are relatively minor, such as adjusting the volume of radio songs and addressing glitched gig initiations. One particularly troublesome bug that’s now resolved was the distorted screen effect that failed to disappear after completing the “Automatic Love” quest.
However, two notable fixes stand out in the patch notes. The first addresses a serious bug that was corrupting PS5 save files due to exceeding file limits. CD Projekt Red’s solution involves increasing the maximum file size to prevent such corruption. Unfortunately, corrupted saves cannot be recovered, so players are advised to maintain manual saves before reaching potentially problematic points.
On the performance front, the patch promises improvements across all platforms, with a specific focus on Dogtown. While the improvements technically apply to the entire world of Cyberpunk 2077, Dogtown had experienced more significant issues, making it a highlight for enhancement.
The post suggests that several smaller fixes are also included in the patch, although these highlighted ones provide a glimpse of the improvements players can expect. However, the post does not specify a release date for the patch, only stating that it is “coming soon.”
Despite its rocky launch in 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 has steadily improved and become more stable. CD Projekt Red’s commitment to regularly rolling out fixes and updates is commendable, especially following significant content drops like the Phantom Liberty update. With ongoing improvements, Cyberpunk 2077 is on its way to becoming a finely polished RPG.
