Guide to Waking Up the Sleeping Tiefling in Baldur’s Gate 3

In the expansive world of Baldur’s Gate 3, one peculiar puzzle presents itself in the form of a slumbering Tiefling named Dairow Vin. As you venture into the sewers during Act 3, you’ll encounter this character surrounded by empty sleeping potions and a letter hinting at his husband’s capture by cultists. While players have tried various commands to awaken him, there’s a specific, albeit unusual, method to rouse Dairow Vin from his deep slumber.
To awaken Dairow Vin in Baldur’s Gate 3, you must cast ‘Dominate Person’ on him, grant him the Death Ward buff, and then eliminate him. By following this sequence, he will experience death and subsequently come back to life, fully alert.
How to Wake Up Dairow Vin in BG3:

- Find Dairow Vin in the sewers during Act 3.
- Cast ‘Dominate Person’ on him to make him an ally.
- Apply the Death Ward effect to Dairow Vin.
- Eliminate Dairow Vin.
- Witness him return to life and awaken.
It’s important to note that once you’ve successfully awakened Dairow Vin, you won’t be able to interact with him further. He will remain hostile, and there are no spells or actions available to initiate dialogue. While he utters some generic voice lines, any substantial interaction is conspicuously absent.
This peculiar interaction could be viewed as either a bug or a feature, and it’s possible that future updates or mods may provide additional clarity and functionality for this enigmatic character.
In the meantime, players can continue to experiment with various interactions and hope for a more substantial role for Dairow Vin in the future.
