Starfield, Bethesda’s highly anticipated space-based RPG, has charmed players with its grandeur, but it’s not without its share of peculiar bugs and quirks. Just as in Bethesda’s previous RPGs like Fallout and The Elder Scrolls, companions play a significant role in the player’s journey across the stars. Starfield features a selection of companions who accompany players, assist in battles, and manage the ship’s crew, offering various perks.

However, these companions are not without their eccentricities. Some players have captured amusing moments where NPCs, such as Sarah, interact in unexpected ways. One memorable glitch showed Sarah leaping on top of an NPC, creating the illusion that she had stomped them out of existence like a Goomba from the Super Mario games. While it’s more likely that the action displaced the NPC, leading them to instantly teleport rather than perish, it’s an example of the amusing oddities players have encountered.
In other instances, players have shared stories of their companions, like Vasco, inexplicably knocking out NPCs, leaving them bewildered. These companion NPCs can be hit-or-miss for players, and many have mixed feelings about the game’s human characters within Constellation.

Thankfully, Starfield offers players the freedom to tailor their experience, and traveling alone is a viable choice with potential character perks. Whether they want the company of companions or prefer the solitude of the vast galaxy, players have the autonomy to chart their course.
