Developer Sabotage Rolls Out a Comprehensive Patch for Sea of Stars on All Platforms

In August, Sea of Stars made an impressive debut, surpassing its initial year’s sales projections, much to the delight of its players. Now, following this remarkable success, developer Sabotage has unveiled a substantial update that caters to all platforms, including the Nintendo Switch.

This latest patch brings a slew of fixes and adjustments that significantly enhance the game’s overall experience. Here’s a detailed rundown of the latest updates, as shared by Sea of Stars on their social media:

v1.0.46131 Patch Notes:

  • Resolved a softlock issue that occasionally occurred when using Hurl Smash to break locks during a specific final boss encounter.
  • Fixed a glitch that could emerge when changing the party leader while standing on a pressure plate.
  • Addressed a trigger that occasionally initiated Khukharr’s dialog when returning from fast travel.
  • Added a check to prevent conflicts when attempting to initiate flight on the exact same frame as landing in boat form.
  • In the Sea of Nightmare, added a check to prevent combat initiation during a crystal break cutscene.
  • Relocated the stone activation cutscene in the Sunken Ruins to trigger after opening the chest rather than after defeating the boss, resolving occasional issues with its activation before defeating Elysan’darëlle.
  • Adjusted raft collisions in the Half-Sunken Tower area.
  • Tweaked collisions in Moraine’s office (Zenith Academy).
  • Added a check to properly reset gravity modules in the room to the right in the Forbidden Cavern.
  • Fixed a rare softlock that could occur when triggering an encounter with a scripted cutscene intro while a follower was still in the process of bouncing from a graplou strike.
  • Adjusted collisions on Skybase’s pushable blocks.
  • Implemented detection to prevent players from getting stuck when using the graplou to move up a slope.
  • In Fleshmancer’s Lair, added a check to prevent the teleporter from being used while camping.
  • Adjusted collisions in X’tol’s Landing.
  • Altered collisions in one of the Molekin houses.
  • For the Sacrosanct Spires, added a check to prevent the triggering of the sealed entrance’s cutscene during camping.
  • Adjusted collisions in Antsudlo’s entrance.
  • Tweaked collisions in Clockwork Castle’s clock tower section to prevent players from getting stuck.
  • Addressed a null reference issue that would occur when trying to browse while the level-up screen displayed only one option.
  • Adjusted a puzzle in the Derelict Factory to prevent players from locking themselves in and getting stuck.
  • Resolved a potential softlock in Solstice Shrine #4’s puzzle.
  • Added a check to disable interaction with the world map’s docks during transitions to camping, avoiding softlocks caused by conflicting transitions.
  • In Fleshmancer’s Lair, fixed a softlock related to the eyeball puzzle due to physics.
  • Fixed an issue that could occur when colliding with an enemy while zipping through a propulsion gate (Antsudlo, Air Skyland).
  • For the Trek to Center, adjusted triggers to prevent rare instances of bad zoning when jumping down.
  • Enhanced the level loading code to include more null reference checks.
  • Fixed a softlock that could occur when an enemy played its attack animation while in a hurt state.
  • Added a check to prevent the duplication of Malkomud and Rockie’s sprites when both were KO’d at the same time.
  • Resolved a softlock that could occur when reentering the Golden Pelican after being teleported out.
  • In the Infinite Abyss, fixed a softlock during the Dweller of Dread’s encounter that required a very specific setup and sequence of party composition, KO states, and boss attacks.
  • Added a check to prevent softlocks when an encounter is triggered during player zoning or teleporting.
  • For the Flooded Graveyard, fixed a crash that could occur when using the graplou on the climb wall in the chapel from the second floor.
  • Addressed an issue where the paincone projectile could get pooled before reaching its target when running the game at very high fps.
  • Enhanced combat management to prevent targets that have left the encounter from checking against damage zones, avoiding softlocks when defeating Romaya with conflagrate while she’s on the bone pillar. In such a situation, the bone pillar will now be properly immune to damage.
  • Fixed softlocks that could occur in certain areas based on party composition.
  • Addressed an inventory glitch involving Antsudlo’s pearls.
  • Resolved a reported issue where Garl would remain deactivated when switching party members before reconvening in the Humble Boast’s Kitchen.
  • Fixed an issue where players could enter Antsuldo too early, causing an improper state on the big door.
  • Added a check to update save files to ensure compatibility with the latest fixes.
  • Retroactively included the Cerulean Expanse story artifact for players who missed it prior to the fix.
  • Reimported text in all languages to include all pending updates.
