During the Fantasia Bunko Daikanshasai Online 2023 event hosted by Kadokawa over the weekend, exciting new information about the highly anticipated Demon Lord 2099 anime adaptation was revealed. The adaptation of the popular light novels by Daigo Murasaki and illustrated by Kureta is scheduled for release in 2024. J.C. Staff has been entrusted with the production of the anime, with Satoshi Hino and Miku Ito taking on the lead roles of Demon Lord Veltol and Machina, respectively.

Yen Press is the English publisher of the light novels and provides the following description:
In the cyberpunk city-state of Shinjuku, set in the year 2099 of the Fused Era, technology has transformed the landscape into a dazzling metropolis of neon signs and towering skyscrapers. It is here that the long-awaited return of the legendary Demon Lord Veltol takes place, five centuries after his initial conquest. However, the world he encounters now is vastly different from the one he once knew, as the fusion of magic and engineering has propelled civilization to unprecedented heights. Although Veltol’s legacy might have diminished over time, the bold new world is ripe for his resurgence.
