Waluigi and Daisy Enter the Party Alongside the Introduction of Story Mode
Nintendo has revealed that Mario Party 3 will be the latest addition to its Nintendo 64 game library on the Switch Online service.
Originally launched on the Nintendo 64 platform in 2000 and 2001,
Mario Party 3 introduced new characters Waluigi and Daisy to the series. This installment also marked the debut of Story Mode in the franchise, offering a unique gaming experience. It features a collection of six distinct game boards and an impressive selection of over 70 mini-games to engage players.
Waluigi takes the stage with his spirited and unpredictable character, presiding over a new board called “Waluigi’s Island,” filled with intricate traps and clever devices. This version also welcomes Daisy, known for her undeniable charm, as a playable character in the Mario Party series.
Furthermore, Mario Party 3 brings an extensive collection of multiplayer mini-games, boasting more than 70 lively options for players to enjoy. From hopping over clock hands in Tick Tock Hop to devouring pizzas in a race against time, the game offers an abundance of exciting challenges and activities. Swing from vine to vine in Vine With Me, recreate the iconic Eye Sore from Super Mario 64, have a blast with Toad’s face-matching game in Picture Imperfect, or conquer the slippery slopes of Snowball Summit.
The introduction of Story Mode in Mario Party 3 marked a significant milestone in the franchise. As players embark on a quest to become the ultimate Superstar, they encounter six diverse game boards, the innovation of Duel mode, new in-game items, and the addition of the bow-tied Game Guy character.
To access Mario Party 3 on the Nintendo Switch, players are required to have an active membership for the Switch Online + Expansion Pack. This game will be available for Japanese players simultaneously. Upcoming releases in the latest wave of Nintendo 64 games include 1080 Snowboarding, while Japan will also receive Harvest Moon 64.
