Nintendo Switch Exclusive Battle Royale Bids Farewell to Online Matches
As previously announced, PAC-MAN 99’s online service has officially ceased operations. Bandai Namco, the developers behind the beloved Nintendo Switch exclusive battle royale game, has expressed their gratitude to fans for their continuous support. Players attempting to access online matches will now encounter an error message, signaling the end of the online gameplay era.
Details: The online service for PAC-MAN 99, available exclusively to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, concluded on October 8, 2023. Players trying to connect online will be met with an error prompt stating, “This online service has ended. Thank you for your interest.” While the online gameplay has concluded, players who have purchased additional modes can still enjoy PAC-MAN 99 in an offline capacity.
Bandai Namco has also discontinued the distribution of the main game and halted the availability of paid custom content and modes. However, players who have acquired additional content can continue to access and enjoy it even after the online service has ended.
In light of PAC-MAN 99’s closure, Nintendo remains interested in the battle royale concept, evident in their recent release of F-Zero 99, showcasing the gaming giant’s ongoing commitment to innovative multiplayer experiences.
