Ubisoft Delays XDefiant Preseason Launch Indefinitely

Ubisoft San Francisco Postpones Preseason Launch to Address Inconsistencies

Ubisoft has announced an indefinite delay for the preseason launch of Tom Clancy’s XDefiant, its free-to-play, faction-based first-person shooter that brings together characters from various Ubisoft franchises. Originally set for a summer release, the developer, Ubisoft San Francisco, cited some inconsistencies in the game experience observed during a recent Public Test Session as the reason for the delay. While this decision means there’s no set date for the preseason launch, the team is actively working to resolve these issues and ensure XDefiant’s success.

Here is Ubisoft’s statement regarding the delay:

“Ubisoft extends its gratitude to everyone who participated in the recent Public Test Session and contributed to the development of XDefiant. The PTS reaffirmed the community’s appreciation for the game’s fast-paced gunplay, uniquely designed maps, objective-driven modes, and iconic Faction roster.

However, the testing phase also brought to light some inconsistencies in the game experience that need addressing before the Preseason launch. As a result, Ubisoft has decided to delay the Preseason of XDefiant.

The development team remains committed to resolving these issues and rigorously testing the game to fulfill its ambition of being a top tier arcade shooter. More information about the Preseason and further testing will be shared in due course.

Ubisoft expresses gratitude for the ongoing support and assures players that they are working tirelessly to deliver an exceptional gaming experience.”

With the indefinite nature of the delay, the exact launch date for the preseason remains uncertain.
