Cygames and Arc System Works have announced a brief delayed release date for Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, pushing the launch date from November 30 to December 14. The game will be accessible on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.
Reason for the Delay:
Following the online beta in July, the development team worked tirelessly to overhaul the game’s mechanics and battle design before the initial release date. Despite their efforts, it became apparent that additional time was necessary to ensure a polished final product.
After implementing adjustments to the game’s battle mechanics, the team received a positive response during the Balance and System Adjustments stream on October 20 and the public playtest at the “Granblue Fantasy: Versus Official Tournament, Vol. 7” last weekend. However, the extensive impact of these changes on multiple modes necessitated two more weeks for thorough polishing and debugging to meet player expectations.
Impact on Other Dates:
The scheduled broadcast of “Granblue Showcase: Part 2 – Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising,” originally planned for late November, has been rescheduled for December 2. This broadcast will unveil the latest news for the game, including a tournament with the development team.
Additionally, the deadline for players to redeem their serial codes for items from the “Granblue Special Item Set: Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising Pack” has been extended:
Previous Deadline: March 31, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.
New Deadline: April 30, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.
A Message to Fans:
The development team extends their sincere apologies for the last-minute announcement of the delay and asks for continued patience as they finalize the game. Their commitment remains steadfast in delivering an exceptional fighting game, and they are dedicated to making Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising worth the wait. The new release date is set for December 14.
