Embark on Saga’s Journey to Rescue Her Grandfather, Tor, from the Enigmatic Witch Cynthia in Alan Wake 2’s Riveting Conclusion

In the climactic chapter of Alan Wake 2, Saga is on a mission to save her grandfather, Tor, from the clutches of Cynthia, the malevolent witch of Bright Falls. As players navigate the treacherous Overlap, they’ll face a showdown with Cynthia, also known as “The Drowned Lady.” To help you conquer Chapter 5 of Saga’s story in Alan Wake 2, here are some valuable tips.
First Stage:

As Saga catches up with Tor in the Overlap, she’ll find herself in a dimly lit circular room. The lights will go out, and Tor vanishes. To restore power, players need to locate a generator in the back hallway. Beware, as this is when Cynthia makes her eerie entrance. In this initial encounter, Cynthia cannot be harmed, so focus on reaching the generator without engaging in combat. However, if you’re cornered by Cynthia, you can temporarily repel her with a shotgun blast, a flare, or an explosive canister.
Once you leave the power console and step into the water, Cynthia will be alerted. If Saga spends too much time in the water, Cynthia will pursue her relentlessly and attempt to drag her underwater for an instant death. To avoid Cynthia’s grasp, use rocks and metal platforms scattered throughout the area to stay out of the water. Move towards the back of the room, away from where Cynthia initially spawned, and search for a pathway through the wall leading to the back hallway.
Navigate the back hallway, using rocks and metal platforms to stay out of the water and away from Cynthia. You’ll occasionally come across a staircase leading to a small storage room with ammunition and healing items. Take advantage of these supplies to prepare for the impending battle. At the end of the back hallway, there’s a broken area in a chain link fence—climb through this opening to reach the generator. Activate the generator, restore power, and return to the main power console to proceed to the next stage. There’s also a shortcut on the tall platform directly across from the hole in the fence, leading back to the main room with the power button.
Defeating Cynthia in Alan Wake 2:
With the power restored and the lights on, progress down the staircase to the final battle against Cynthia. As Saga approaches the underside of the stairs, the lights will go out, and Cynthia emerges from the water. Seize this moment to throw a flare at Cynthia, temporarily stunning her and revealing her Source. When Cynthia regains her composure, start moving around the room to create barriers between Saga and Cynthia, as Cynthia can launch damaging dark projectiles that knock Saga down. Use the environment and Saga’s dodge ability to evade these attacks.
Once Cynthia’s Source is exposed, use the crossbow to fire as many bolts into it as possible. Employ the flashlight charge attack to stun Cynthia, causing her to shield herself from the light, giving you an opportunity to target her Source. Upgrading the crossbow with the ability to fire two bolts before reloading is a significant advantage in this boss fight.

As Cynthia sustains damage, she enters a frenzied stage, sprinting around and slashing at Saga. If possible, continue to land crossbow shots, and when Cynthia draws near, switch to the shotgun and unload on her. Cynthia’s health is already low in this frenzied state, so a few shotgun blasts should finish her off.

Once Cynthia is defeated, rush to her body to recover any available crossbow bolts. You’ll have a brief moment to gather items in the area before the chapter concludes, and a cutscene transports you out of the eerie Overlap.
