Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, while a commercial success, divided fans with its multiplayer changes. However, its sequel, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, is making adjustments that appear to be well-received. Sledgehammer Games has confirmed the return of the mini-map, addressing a common complaint from the previous installment.

One major concern was the slower movement speed in Modern Warfare 2 compared to its predecessors. Call of Duty veterans found it challenging to adapt to these changes. Modern Warfare 3 is set to reverse these alterations, introducing faster movement across the board. Players can expect a speedier sprint, mantling, and aim-down-sight experience.
Additionally, slide-canceling is making a comeback, providing players more freedom in maneuvering around obstacles. Reload-canceling and grenade-canceling mechanics are also hinted at, although not yet fully detailed.

A new Tac-Stance mechanic offers an intermediate option between sprinting and aiming down sights. This feature reduces bullet spread while maintaining mobility, and it can be used concurrently with sliding.
The adjustments to movement mechanics aim to create a more fast-paced Call of Duty experience. While these changes have been well-received, there is a risk that any imbalances in these new or tweaked mechanics could affect the overall gameplay.
With a return to the familiar mini-map and faster movement, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is poised to provide a smoother and more enjoyable multiplayer experience for fans.
