The Call of Duty community was treated to the latest patch notes for the November 1 update of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone. These patch notes include a comprehensive list of changes, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements made to the current pair of Call of Duty games as fans eagerly await the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on November 10.
Season 6 and the Haunting Event

Season 6 of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone began on September 27, marking the start of Modern Warfare 2’s final season. The Haunting event followed on October 17, featuring limited-time Halloween events and game modes. Infinity Ward, the developer, kept its promise of ongoing updates throughout Season 6, including adjustments to the in-game meta. For example, several popular assault rifles were nerfed in Warzone with the October 23 update. One week later, the November 1 update brought more changes to the games, although this time it did not directly target weapon buffs or nerfs.
What the November 1 Update Brings
According to Activision’s latest Call of Duty blog update, the November 1 update focuses on global bug fixes in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone, addressing known issues that could lead to game crashes. Additionally, the Lilith and Skeletor operator skins from The Haunting event received adjustments to fix ADS (Aim Down Sights) issues and finishing move glitches. These adjustments ensure that players can use the Lilith and Skeletor skins without encountering visual glitches or other problems in the Call of Duty games.

Infinity Ward also made several adjustments to multiple weapon blueprints, including “Alien Death Ray” and “Hellspawn.” These Halloween-themed weapon blueprints previously prevented the use of certain attachment loadouts and special effects due to underlying bugs in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone.
Warzone’s DMZ Mode
While Modern Warfare 2 did not receive exclusive fixes in the November 1 update, two notable adjustments were made for Warzone’s DMZ game mode. Players can now take advantage of more Active Duty Operator slots in DMZ. However, players should exercise caution while fighting The Butcher since the number of Stims dropped upon defeating minions has been reduced.
Preparing for Modern Warfare 3
The latest Call of Duty update appears to be focused on fixing lingering issues before the launch of Modern Warfare 3. This is because content from Modern Warfare 2 will be returning in the new installment. The Call of Duty Carry-Forward system ensures that weapons and cosmetics from Modern Warfare 2 will be available in Modern Warfare 3. Additionally, Sledgehammer Games will introduce Modern Warfare 2 maps over the course of multiple seasons. Although updates may be winding down for Modern Warfare 2, players can expect many more updates over the course of a year for Modern Warfare 3.
