Larian Studios has recently released Patch 4 for Baldur’s Gate 3, bringing in a plethora of improvements, totaling over 1000 fixes, adjustments, and enhancements. With a strong emphasis on accessibility, the patch addresses various aspects, including the hirelings system, combat mechanics, and user interface.

The most notable addition is the inclusion of a color-blind mode that allows players to choose between protanopia, deuteranopia, or tritanopia. This mode affects character outlines, circles, character map markers, frame portraits in turn order, and party portraits, catering to players with red-green or blue-yellow color vision deficiencies.
Another significant feature is the option to customize the appearance of hirelings upon recruitment, providing players with more personalization options. Moreover, the implementation of several autosaves in key areas such as the Shadowlands, Wyrm’s Crossing, and the Lower City, including specific locations like the Steel Watch Foundry, the Iron Throne, and Rivington, ensures smoother gameplay and fewer progress-related concerns.
Furthermore, to accommodate different playstyles, there is now an option to require holding the ‘end turn’ button rather than tapping it, providing better control for certain players.
However, not all changes have been met with universal acclaim. A particular fix in Act 3 prevents players from pushing a specific boss into a chasm, owing to the introduction of logical constraints that prevent such exploits.
On a more positive note, an issue in Act 3 involving the disappearance of Yenna after the avatar of Bhaal kidnaps a companion has been rectified. Yenna now appropriately returns to the camp, resolving the mystery surrounding her sudden disappearance.
With these comprehensive updates and enhancements, Baldur’s Gate 3 continues to refine and enrich the gaming experience for all players.
