After completing the summoning ritual, a cutscene is triggered in which Saga realizes that Alan, who failed to appear, has actually escaped from the Dark Place. Surprisingly, Mr. Scratch is revealed to be an embodiment of the Dark Presence within Alan. This revelation leads to an intense final confrontation between Alan and Saga on the beach.

The fight with Alan blends elements from the encounter with Mr. Scratch behind the Sheriff’s Station and the Ritual Summoning battle. Although players won’t face swarms of Taken, Alan proves to be a formidable opponent, combining speed and strength to challenge Saga and the players. Aligning the lights to dispel the Dark Presence, and hence free Alan, becomes the key strategy.
Throughout the battle, players must contend with Alan’s aggressive lunges and devastating dark energy pulses, which are difficult to evade. Quick access to painkillers is crucial for maintaining health during the fight. To stun Alan temporarily, players must deal as much damage as possible, then interact with the lighting arrays to align them with the cage. The alignment process can be interrupted by Alan’s attacks but progresses steadily.

Agent Estevez intermittently provides assistance by spotlighting Alan, slowing his advance and offering opportunities for precise attacks. Utilizing the flashlight to slow down Alan is minimally effective. Ammo can be replenished from supply boxes dropped by Estevez and Casey, and there is a shoebox with additional supplies located in the arena.
The battle requires a persistent cycle of damaging Alan, aligning the lights, and taking advantage of spotlight opportunities until both lights are in place. Once the lights are set, luring Alan into the cage and exposing him to the light triggers a cutscene, signaling the end of the encounter and the resolution of the storyline.
