While Destiny 2 has been a topic of debate among its player base lately, the ongoing addition of puzzles continues to captivate the community. The most recent weekly update introduced a series of challenges that marked the culmination of the extensive Imbaru Engine puzzle, initially introduced in Savathun’s Throne World during the ongoing Season of the Witch.

Upon completing the Imbaru Engine puzzle, players were treated to a new cutscene that exposed a hidden secret: the wings of Savathun, a prominent Destiny 2 antagonist, contain the elusive 15th wish, which completes the Wall of Wishes. The Wall of Wishes is a unique device situated in the Dreaming City, originally introduced as part of Destiny 2: Forsaken, the game’s third expansion released in September 2018. This apparatus allowed players to make wishes that would influence their experience during the Keep of Voices raid, featured in Forsaken. While 15 wishes existed in total, the 15th wish never appeared to produce any tangible effect, leading players to speculate about its true significance.

The unexpected revelation in the Imbaru Engine puzzle cutscene rekindled long-standing fan theories concerning the enigmatic 15th wish. In a swift response, Bungie, using X (formerly Twitter), acknowledged and congratulated the players who had successfully deciphered the intricate rune puzzle. In the same message, the developer confirmed that the upcoming Destiny 2 Season 23 would be titled the Season of the Wish. The promotional artwork accompanying this announcement portrayed three Guardians emerging from a portal alongside Riven, the formidable raid boss from The Last Wish.

While some elaborate fan theories about the 15th wish remain unverified, this development affirms Bungie’s intention to revisit the narrative from the Forsaken expansion in the near future. Speculation on social media suggests that the 15th wish might be linked to the transformation of Riven into an ally, with the newly shared promotional artwork being cited as supporting evidence.

As is customary for Destiny 2 seasons, the Season of the Wish is slated to be a three-month event, running from November 28 to February 27, as previously confirmed by Bungie.
