Tips and Tactics for Overcoming the Challenge of Recusant Henricus in Elden Ring

Embark on the daunting journey through the nightmarish world of the Lands Between in Elden Ring, encountering formidable adversaries like the NPC Invaders. Among these challengers stands Recusant Henricus, a formidable foe requiring a strategic approach to emerge victorious.
How to Conquer Recusant Henricus in Elden Ring

Encountering Recusant Henricus triggers a sudden combat engagement. This invader, clad in full-body armor and wielding the Ash of War: Eruption mace, appears near the northeastern gates of a significant structure, close to Stormhill Shack.
It’s crucial to note that most invader NPCs won’t appear if players have vanquished all area bosses. For Recusant Henricus, these area bosses include Tibia Mariner, Tree Sentinel, Flying Dragon Agheel, Margit the Fell Omen, and Mad Pumpkin Head in the Limgrave area. Failing to defeat all these bosses leads to the encounter with Recusant Henricus. However, players won’t be able to summon spirits for assistance during this battle.

Recusant Henricus, wielding a mace, has a slower recovery period after attacks. Players should capitalize on this by employing sorcery and incantations immediately after evading its strikes using a shield.
Exploit Recusant Henricus’s delayed recovery by allowing it to initiate attacks, evading with a shield, and swiftly counterattacking while it recovers. Manipulating the enemy into performing heavier attacks extends its recovery duration, providing a strategic advantage.
Using this method, players can gradually overpower Recusant Henricus by capitalizing on its slower post-attack recovery and baiting it into prolonged sequences, allowing for more substantial counteroffensives.
