In the recently released BlizzCon Q&A video on November 10, Ion Hazzikostas addressed the looming prospect of another stat squish. Contrary to player expectations, The War Within is not slated for such an adjustment. Hazzikostas reassured players that the numbers in The War Within would be significant but akin to those seen in Legion. However, the subsequent Midnight expansion is anticipated to necessitate a stat squish to prevent unwieldy numerical inflation.
Hazzikostas stated, “We are almost certainly going to do a stat squish again in Midnight when we get there. We’ve gotten better at doing this over the years; it’s less of an ad hoc process, it’s something we have more structure around, so I am confident that we’ll be able to better address legacy scaling.”
