Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 – Preview of the Upcoming ‘Meat’ Map in Season 1

Get Ready for Chaotic 6v6 Battles in the Slaughterhouse Setting of ‘Meat

Sledgehammer Games has unveiled a sneak peek of the new map, ‘Meat,’ set to join the battlegrounds in Season 1 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Designed for 6v6 core playlists, this compact map suits modes like Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Kill Confirmed seamlessly.

Modern Warfare 3’s multiplayer promises a year of updates, seasonal content, following Modern Warfare 2’s successful pattern in 2022. Despite mixed reactions to its campaign, Sledgehammer Games’ receptive stance towards community feedback has fueled high player engagement, positioning Modern Warfare 3 as one of the franchise’s standout titles. Before Season 1’s December 6 launch, updates introduced new weapons, maps, perks, and diverse content for Modern Warfare.

The official Call of Duty blog recently disclosed the Meat map’s layout:

Offering players a glimpse into what’s to come. The slaughterhouse setting on the US west coast presents a close-quarters battleground reminiscent of iconic maps like Rust and Shipment. Gunfights within the narrow confines of the slaughterhouse are bound to be intense and unpredictable, incentivizing tactical maneuvering. While the outer loading dock and entrance areas offer longer sightlines, the heart of the action undoubtedly resides within the center of the map.

Given the map’s layout with its corridors and corners, expect SMGs and assault rifles to dominate loadouts. Despite recent calls for assault rifle adjustments, these weapons will likely remain potent throughout Season 1. Yet, the upcoming December 6 patch might bring surprises as Sledgehammer Games continuously works on weapon balance.

Meat joins the 6v6 playlists of Modern Warfare 3 alongside the Greece map upon Season 1’s release, with Rio set to join later in the season. Expect a refreshed battleground in Season 1 with additional 6v6 maps, possibly featuring beloved ones from Modern Warfare 2 favorites.
