Unlock Rewards in WoW Season of Discovery: A Guide to Waylaid Supplies

Explore the Mechanism, Benefits, and Methods of Acquiring Waylaid Supplies in WoW SoD

The Season of Discovery in World of Warcraft Classic has ushered in numerous changes, including the intriguing Waylaid Supplies system. These unique items allow players to earn reputation with a new faction, unlocking valuable rewards and sought-after Runes for all nine classes. This guide delves into the specifics of Waylaid Supplies, covering how to get them, complete them, and what to expect when turning them in to faction vendors.

What Are Waylaid Supplies:

Waylaid Supplies in WoW SoD are exclusive seasonal items that players can collect to gain reputation with a new faction. Acquired from various sources such as mob kills and chest openings, these supplies require players to contribute specific crafted items. Filling a Waylaid Supplies with the required items enhances the turn-in rewards, but they can also be turned in empty.

For Alliance players, reputation is earned with the Azeroth Commerce Authority, while Horde members contribute to Durotar Supply & Logistics. Faction representatives/vendors can be located near or in close proximity to the Auction House in every capital city.

How To Get Waylaid Supplies

Players can obtain Waylaid Supplies by either defeating mobs or opening chests. While both methods are viable, chests are considered more efficient for acquiring these supplies. Higher-level Waylaid Supplies are found in corresponding zones, such as Duskwood, Ashenvale, Redridge, Stonetalon, Thousand Needles, and the Wetlands during Phase One.

Completing Waylaid Supplies:

Each Waylaid Supplies has unique requirements, ranging from collecting Healing Potions to specific crafted items like Copper Shortswords or Copper Ore. Players can choose to turn in an unfilled Waylaid Supplies for minimum rewards or partially filled ones for partial rewards, including reputation, XP, and silver. By collecting necessary items and right-clicking on the crate, players can fill it up, turning it into a Supply Shipment.

Completing a Waylaid Supplies box turns it into a Supply Shipment, which players can carry without restrictions. This is crucial, as players can normally carry only one Waylaid Supplies at a time in the Season of Discovery.

Waylaid Supplies Cap & Farming Method:

During the Season of Discovery, players can generally carry only one unfilled Waylaid Supplies at a time. However, this restriction doesn’t apply to Supply Shipments, allowing players to carry multiple completed crates along with one unfilled one. Farm Waylaid Supplies by focusing on Treasure Chests near capital cities or flight points, as they respawn every 10-15 minutes.

Waylaid Supplies Rewards: XP, Gold, & New Rep:

Turning in both unfilled and completed Waylaid Supplies yields several rewards, including reputation with the Azeroth Commerce Authority or Durotar Supply & Logistics. As players progress through reputation ranks, they unlock new rewards from the respective Supply vendors:

  • Friendly: One Rune for every class (2g), a unique 10-slot bag, and uncommon gear.
  • Honored: A unique 12-slot bag, additional gear, and Tailoring/Blacksmithing patterns.
  • Revered & Exalted: Yet to be determined.

While completing a Waylaid Supplies rewards nominal silver and XP, the focus is on reputation. Unfilled turn-ins offer around 100 to 200 reputation, while completed Supply Shipments provide significantly more, ranging from 400 to 800 rep.

Efficient and cost-effective farming involves turning in unfilled Waylaid Supplies unless the required items are readily available or easily crafted. This strategy optimizes reputation gains while minimizing resource expenditure.

Navigate the Season of Discovery strategically, unlock valuable rewards, and bolster your reputation with the new factions by mastering the Waylaid Supplies mechanic in World of Warcraft Classic.
