Discover the whereabouts of Poochyena and the steps to evolve it into Mightyena within the vibrant Kitakami region of The Teal Mask DLC.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the illustrious ninth Generation in the Pokemon series, bring a vast open-world experience. The expansion of the game with The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero and The Teal Mask DLC ushers in fresh concepts, adding a myriad of new Pokemon to the fray. Among these additions are the canine duo, Poochyena and Mightyena, crucial for those aiming to complete their Kitakami Pokedex.
Poochyena’s Habitat

Poochyena, a Dark-type Pokemon reminiscent of hyenas, is a common sight across Kitakami. Players can easily spot these bite Pokemon near the bus stop and within the grasslands near Mossui Town, both during the day and night.
Despite their frequency, Poochyena exhibits confrontational behavior in the wild, often initiating battles upon sight. Employing a Quick Ball or Dusk Ball during evenings can expedite the capture process without prolonged battles.
Evolving Poochyena into Mightyena

While Mightyena roams Kitakami’s wild at a lower spawn rate, players can expedite their pursuit by evolving Poochyena. The evolution process of Poochyena into Mightyena initiates at level 18, a progression swiftly achieved through the game’s EXP Sharing feature or by utilizing consumable items like Rare Candy or Exp. Candy found throughout the Overworld.
Mightyena, also a Dark-type Pokemon, boasts the following base stats:
- HP: 70
- Attack: 90
- Defense: 70
- Sp. Atk: 60
- Sp. Def: 60
- Speed: 70
Despite its balanced stats, Mightyena’s overall statistics for a final evolution tend to be relatively modest. Its forte lies in its Attack stat, which accentuates its proficiency with Dark-type moves such as Fire Fang, Thunder Fang, Ice Fang, Crunch, and Bite. These moves also bear a chance to induce status conditions or cause the target to flinch, augmenting Mightyena’s strategic utility in battle.
