Rumors Surface of GTA 5 Source Code Leak Alongside Confidential Material from Bully 2 and GTA 6

Reports are swirling about a substantial leak allegedly involving the Grand Theft Auto 5 source code and an array of confidential Rockstar Games materials, raising significant concerns about the security of Rockstar’s operations. This purported incident comes in the wake of prior security breaches that have disrupted the gaming giant’s plans and operations.
Following last year’s partial leak of GTA 6 gameplay footage, Rockstar Games has been grappling with unauthorized releases, including an earlier-than-planned trailer launch for GTA 6. The most recent alleged leak involves the GTA 5 source code and other sensitive data, initially reported in a tweet by GTA Focal.
Reports indicate that a 4GB file containing code and assets from GTA 5 has surfaced online, sparking concerns about potential vulnerabilities and unauthorized access. Although a complete 200GB source file is rumored to exist, its release has not been confirmed.
Take-Two Interactive,

Rockstar’s parent company, is reportedly actively pursuing the removal of online links to the leaked GTA 5 source code. Despite these efforts, the files have already begun circulating across social media platforms, and hackers are purportedly deliberating over the potential release of the extensive source file.
The leak extends beyond GTA 5, encompassing materials related to the elusive Bully 2 and portions of GTA 6’s code. Additionally, unreleased DLCs, such as the rumored GTA 5 Trevor expansion, have surfaced. Notably, assets from the canceled “Agent” project, rumored to have ties to the James Bond franchise, are also part of the leak.
This incident poses severe security risks, potentially enabling hackers to exploit vulnerabilities within the source code and pose threats to players’ systems, particularly in GTA Online. The timing of the leak during the holiday season raises concerns as developers might be on vacation, hampering Rockstar’s response.
The gravity of this breach highlights the urgent need for Rockstar Games to address security vulnerabilities and safeguard their intellectual property and player safety.
