In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s Indigo Disk, capturing Bulbasaur involves meeting specific criteria. Here’s a DLC guide.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet introduces the opportunity to acquire the Grass/Poison-type Bulbasaur, a beloved Gen 1 starter, in its Indigo Disk expansion. Here’s a comprehensive guide on obtaining Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, and Venusaur in this vibrant new addition to the Scarlet & Violet universe.
Where to Find Bulbasaur in Indigo Disk

Coastal Biome in Terarium: Unlocking access to the Indigo Disk and expanding the Coastal Biome are necessary steps to encounter Bulbasaur. Achieve this progression by completing several key game stages:
- Starfall Street
- Path of Legends
- Victory Road
- Kitakami/Teal Mask storyline
Unlock the League Club at Blueberry Academy by completing “The Way Home” story and initiating the postgame. Engage in a battle with Carmine at Central Plaza, leading to a meet-up with Drayton from Blueberry Academy’s Elite Four. His invitation to the League Club will introduce you to contributing Blueberry Points (BP) to other clubs.
Acquiring Blueberry Points (BP): Gather 3000BP and send it to the Coastal Biome environment club to prompt Bulbasaur’s appearance. Complete Blueberry Quests (BBQs) to earn BP by fulfilling tasks assigned to you. These quests range from catching Pokemon to overcoming specific challenges.
Locating Bulbasaur: Upon expanding the Coastal Biome, Bulbasaur spawns along the west side but never within the water. Head to the Coastal Rest Area near the shorelines of the Coastal Biome to spot these Pokemon.
Obtaining Bulbasaur without Indigo Disk DLC

Through Pokemon HOME or Trades: Without the DLC, acquire Bulbasaur through trades or transfers from other compatible Pokemon games:
- Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl
- Pokemon Sword/Shield (Isle of Armor DLC)
- Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!/Eevee!
- Pokemon GO
Using Pokemon HOME:
- Transferring from Pokemon GO: Link accounts, navigate to Settings -> Connected Devices and Services -> Pokemon HOME -> Send Pokemon.
- Transferring from other games: Utilize Pokemon HOME’s interface for inter-game transfers.
Evolution of Bulbasaur & Ivysaur into Venusaur

Evolving Bulbasaur:
- Bulbasaur at Terarium is approximately level 58. Level it once to evolve into Ivysaur.
- Transfer Bulbasaur at level 16 to evolve into Ivysaur and level Ivysaur to 32 for Venusaur.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s Indigo Disk presents an opportunity to capture and evolve these iconic Pokemon, making it an exciting addition for Pokemon enthusiasts to expand their collection.
