Burn the Witch 0.8, a prequel movie to Tite Kubo’s Burn the Witch series, takes place in London, where Dragons are perceived as mythical beings. Among the introduced characters, Osushi, a Dark Dragon, raises questions about how this transformation occurred.
The Genesis of Osushi’s Dark Dragon Form

In the Burn the Witch universe, Osushi initially appears as a dog, meeting an unfortunate demise. However, a Disguiser Dragon reanimates and takes control of Osushi’s body, leading to the creation of the Dark Dragon. Burn the Witch 0.8 sheds light on Osushi’s backstory, uncovering the events that led to his transformation.
A Confrontation with Darkness
The narrative unfolds as Noel Niihashi encounters Osushi near the Phone Gate. Later, while interacting with Balgo, Noel disappears, and Balgo, along with Osushi and Shelby, ventures to the same location. Osushi undergoes a transformation into a Dark Dragon, prompting confrontation from Noel and Ninny. Through their efforts, Osushi is successfully reverted to his original state.
Dragons in Reverse London: Guardians and Threats
In the lore of Burn the Witch, Dragons can only be perceived by those in “Reverse London,” one of the two dimensions of the city. The West Branch of Soul Society, known as Seireitou, monitors and safeguards these dragons. Dark Dragons emerge when a regular Dragon absorbs excess negative emotions from humans, showcasing distinctive physical features.
Osushi’s Unique Role: The Dragon Dog
Seireitou eliminates Dark Dragons, posing a threat to humans. However, Osushi becomes an exception due to its ability to transform into a dog, earning the nickname “Dragon Dog.” Despite being a Dark Dragon, the Reverse London dimension allows Osushi to exist, restrained by a Fence Collar. This unique case adds an intriguing layer to the Burn the Witch storyline.
