Destiny 2 Introduces Long-Awaited Player Appearance Customization

Since Destiny 2’s launch, players couldn’t change their characters’ appearance. This limitation was unusual for a long-term game like Destiny 2, where players use the same character for years. Thankfully, that is about to change.

Limitations and Release Timeline

The only limitation to this is that players won’t be able to swap origins, so no changing from a Human to an Exo, for example. Unfortunately, Bungie doesn’t give us an exact date for when these new character customization options will drop, but at least we know they’ll arrive in the next five months, assuming that The Final Shape doesn’t get delayed again like it did last year.

Preparing for the Update

Anticipating high demand for character changes, Bungie plans to reset the Synthweave bounty cap in a March update. This move aims to enhance character customization options. It’s likely that the new Guardian appearance options will become available around this time.

Additional Fan-Requested Features

Bungie also announced an increase in Glimmer wallet capacity. With update 7.3.4, players can hold up to 500,000 Glimmer, doubling the current limit of 250,000. This change allows players to earn and spend Glimmer as usual, but with the ability to accumulate more.
