Following the February 6 State of Play broadcast, Square Enix announced a second demo for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. This demo would precede the game’s full release, requiring players to complete the first demo beforehand.
During the January 31 State of Play, Sony and Square Enix teased an update on Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for February 6. Sony then hosted a dedicated State of Play on that day, unveiling features like party levels and Chocobo Racing.

Creative director Tetsuya Nomura confirmed the demo’s launch during the broadcast. However, this February 6 demo isn’t the only one planned. Game director Naoki Hamaguchi revealed a second demo set to launch on February 21 as a free update.
This second demo will require completion of the first and will feature a condensed version of the Junon area. While progress won’t carry over, it promises a mix of combat, mini-games, and story elements.
The Nibelheim flashback demo serves as a tutorial for gameplay and combat mechanics. It delves into pivotal plot points, showcasing Sephiroth’s descent into madness following discoveries at the Mako reactor.
The demo concludes with Sephiroth’s iconic burning of Nibelheim, setting the stage for the game’s epic storyline. With its vast scope and content, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is one of the most anticipated titles of 2024.
As players await the game’s release, they eagerly anticipate how the narrative will unfold compared to the original Final Fantasy 7.
