A Detailed Look at the Changes Introduced in the Recent GTA 5 Update

GTA 5 Update

Rockstar Games has rolled out a new update for Grand Theft Auto V (GTA 5) and its online counterpart, GTA Online, bringing a plethora of changes to enhance the gameplay experience. Let’s delve into the specifics of this update to understand what has been added and removed.

Introduction of Title Update 1.68

Released on February 20, 2024, Title Update 1.68 brings significant alterations to GTA 5, notably removing the Rockstar Editor and its replay features from the PS4 and Xbox One versions. This decision aims to optimize gameplay performance on these platforms while introducing several other enhancements and fixes.

Removal of Rockstar Editor

The removal of the Rockstar Editor marks a notable change, eliminating the ability for players to create and share gameplay videos within GTA 5 and GTA Online. While this decision may disappoint some players, it addresses performance concerns reported by many users on PS4 and Xbox One.

Introduction of Voice Chat Moderation

A key addition in this update is the implementation of voice chat moderation testing for PS4 and Xbox One consoles in GTA Online. This feature aims to combat toxic behavior and hate speech by enabling moderation within the in-game voice chat system, extending a measure previously available only on PC and newer console platforms.

Unlocking Trophies via Director Mode

With the removal of the Rockstar Editor, players can now unlock certain trophies such as Vinewood Visionary and Majestic by utilizing Director Mode on all platforms. This adjustment provides an alternative method for players to achieve these milestones, enhancing their ability to showcase accomplishments within the game.

Bug Fixes and Launcher Enhancements

Addressing various issues within GTA Online, the update resolves crashes during voice chat on Xbox One and corrects icon displays on both PS4 and Xbox One platforms. Furthermore, improvements to the Rockstar Games Launcher enhance performance across different platforms, ensuring a smoother gaming experience for players.

In summary, while the removal of the Rockstar Editor may disappoint some players, the introduction of voice chat moderation, Director Mode trophy unlocking, and bug fixes demonstrates Rockstar Games’ commitment to enhancing the overall gameplay experience in GTA 5 and GTA Online.
