With classic shows like Dragon Ball and Bleach returning to TV with new adventures, the One Piece anime is temporarily stepping back with an extended hiatus. Fans of the iconic franchise were caught off guard by a recent announcement revealing that the long-running anime adaptation will be on hold until April 2025.

According to credible anime news sources on X (formerly Twitter), the One Piece Egghead Island arc is set to resume on March 30, 2025. This break is viewed as an opportunity for the creative team to enhance the show’s quality and standards. However, fans can still look forward to new One Piece content this October, including the airing of the ‘One Piece Fan Letter’ episode next Sunday.
In addition, a “Special Edited Version” of the Fish-Man Island arc is scheduled to air on October 27. More announcements regarding the manga and anime are expected soon.
Upcoming events will likely shed light on new developments. The two-day Shonen Jump+ event, Jump Festa 2025, is set for December 21 and 22 at Chiba’s Makuhari Messe event hall, just outside Tokyo. The event will feature 42 stage events showcasing major reveals not only for One Piece but also for other popular titles like My Hero Academia, Gintama, Demon Slayer, and Chainsaw Man.
2024 has been a bittersweet year for anime and manga enthusiasts, with several new-age franchises like Jujutsu Kaisen and Oshi no Ko concluding. However, classic titles like Bleach with its “Thousand-Year Blood War” arc and the new Dragon Ball DAIMA series have made a strong comeback, further exciting fans.
