Riot Games has unveiled the details of this year’s League of Legends World Championship anthem, “GODS,” performed by the K-pop group NewJeans. The anthem is set to be released by Riot on October 4 at 12 am CT, coinciding with the highly anticipated World Championship event.

Following the tradition of collaborating with artists local to the tournament, Riot has partnered with the globally renowned K-pop sensation NewJeans. The group, consisting of Hanni, Danielle, Minji, Hyein, and Haerin, brings their powerful vocals to “GODS,” complemented by an epic and intense production, capturing the essence of the grind and glory that awaits players at Worlds.

NewJeans expressed their excitement at exploring a different genre and sound from their usual style, resulting in a song that incorporates both their unique colors and the spirit of League of Legends. They closely collaborated with Riot’s principal composer Sebastien Najand and American DJ and music producer Mako, known for past anthems like “Legends Never Die” and “RISE.”

Additionally, the anthem’s music video will feature veteran AD carry Deft as its main character, showcasing his journey from discovering League of Legends in high school to becoming a world champion. Riot aims to convey a universal story of athletes turning rivals into allies, setting the stage for an incredible Worlds event.
The League of Legends World Championship 2023 is scheduled to take place in November, and “GODS” will be available to fans on October 4 at 12 am CT.
