Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty – A Guide to Earning Relic Tree Points

Phantom Liberty introduces a new skill tree system known as the Relic Tree. Discover how to earn Relic Tree Points and make the most of this exciting addition.

With the release of Update 2.0 and the Phantom Liberty DLC, Cyberpunk 2077 has undergone a significant revitalization, introducing fresh mechanics that both long-time players and newcomers can enjoy. Among these new features is the Relic Tree skill system, which functions similarly to ultimate abilities found in games like Diablo 4.

However, unlike the standard leveling system in Cyberpunk 2077, which provides attribute and skill points to shape your character’s build, Relic Tree Points are earned through specific means and are relatively scarce. This guide will outline the various methods to earn Relic Tree Points.

How to Acquire Relic Tree Points

Upon beginning Phantom Liberty, players gain access to the innovative Relic Perks system. In this system, Songbird enhances the Relic in V’s head, granting improved combat and open-world skills. These enhancements are made possible through Militech technology, and Songbird fully unlocks the Relic’s potential. To acquire additional perk points for the new Relic Skill Tree, players must complete certain activities:

  1. Story Progression: Songbird initially provides players with three skill points to invest in the Relic Tree. Additionally, players will receive three more points for completing significant quests in the storyline.
  2. Militech Data Terminals: Players can unlock one additional perk point per point by locating and hacking Militech Data Terminals. These terminals, resembling yellow junction boxes, are scattered throughout Dogtown and are easily identifiable on the map by the Relic symbol. When near one, players will hear a distinct beep, helping them locate these valuable terminals.

Recommended Early Game Relic Skill Tree Skills

Once players unlock the Relic Skill Tree, they gain access to a range of enhancements. These skills can improve damage output from cyberware like Mantis Blades, boost critical hit damage, and unlock enemy vulnerabilities. Since players have limited points initially, it’s essential to choose wisely. Recommended early game Relic Skill Tree skills include:

  1. Jailbreak: Unlocks additional abilities for Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Projectile Launch System, and Monowire.
  2. Emergency Cloaking: Ideal for a stealth-focused build, this skill enhances Optical Camo to help players lose enemy attention during combat.
  3. Vulnerability Analytics: This skill enables players to identify and detect enemy vulnerabilities in armor and cyberware. Targeting these vulnerabilities in combat grants benefits such as 100% critical hit chance, +25% armor penetration, and enhanced weak spot damage.

Ultimately, the most suitable Relic skill depends on the player’s chosen build and playstyle.
