One of the earliest and most formidable challenges is the encounter with The Chimera, a formidable walking tank. This battle is a protracted and intense fight that can take a considerable amount of time to overcome. However, at the end of this challenging skirmish, players have the opportunity to collect valuable loot—an optional objective that shouldn’t be disregarded.
This loot could prove useful in future endeavors, making it essential to pause, catch your breath, and retrieve The Chimera’s core before departing the underground area.
Where Is The Chimera Core Located?
The battle against The Chimera is characterized by its sheer chaos, with bullets, lasers, explosives, and drones wreaking havoc throughout the area. Consequently, by the time the boss fight concludes, the environment is left in disarray, strewn with debris. To complete an optional objective and collect The Chimera’s core, players may assume that the core is located within or on the boss itself. However, this is not the case, and searching the burning wreckage for this lootable item could be a fruitless endeavor.
The reality is that The Chimera’s core drops behind the boss, towards its rear. The core appears as a small, somewhat spherical object, visibly damaged from the fight. It emits smoke and appears barely functional, but it is an item worth acquiring. Depending on where the boss ultimately falls within your game, the core may be partially obscured by debris or may have rolled away from the immediate area. Carefully inspect the rear section, near the boss’s hindquarters, to locate the core.
While the core has significant monetary value, it may also serve as a crucial quest item in future missions. Therefore, it may be prudent to retain it unless you have an urgent need for Eddies.
