Riot Games, the developer of League of Legends, continues its tradition of champion reworks with the recent transformation of Jax, a long-standing favorite in the game since his debut in 2009. Jax’s kit had remained largely untouched over the years, but earlier this year, Riot introduced a mini-rework to modernize his gameplay and make him more viable in solo queue.

Originally, Riot had planned a comprehensive Visual and Gameplay Update (VGU) for Jax, but due to the extensive nature of the changes, it was divided into two parts. The gameplay adjustments came first through the mini-rework, while players eagerly awaited the Jax Visual Update.

The Jax Visual Update is now here and has exceeded expectations. Riot has gone the extra mile, revamping his animations, visual effects (VFX), and voice-over. They’ve even introduced a delightful fishing mini-game, adding an extra layer of charm to the champion’s character.

In this fishing mini-game, players can head to the nearest river, remain idle, and watch as Jax starts fishing. After a brief period, players will receive either a regular or golden fish, each with its own unique rewards.

Normal fish yield 1 gold and grant a temporary 1 Ability Power (AP) boost for 5 seconds, while golden fish provide 10 gold and a 10 AP boost for 5 seconds.

This charming addition enhances Jax’s character and offers players a fun and rewarding in-game activity to enjoy while waiting for the action to heat up on the Rift.
