Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) features an array of formidable Sub Machine Guns (SMG) that are highly effective in close to mid-range combat situations. Among the available SMGs are the Thompson, UZI, UMP45, Vector, PP-19 Bizon, P90, and MP5k. It’s worth noting that certain SMGs are specific to particular maps, such as the MP5k, which can only be found on Vikendi, and the P90, available exclusively on Livik.

SMGs are renowned for their versatility in close to mid-range engagements, making them a popular choice among players. Weapons like the Thompson SMG (commonly referred to as the Tommy Gun) and the UMP45 are particularly favored for close-range combat due to their impressive fire rate and magazine capacity, enabling players to handle a wide range of combat scenarios effectively.

For those interested in optimizing their gameplay with the Thompson SMG, let’s explore the best loadout for this versatile weapon. SMGs, in general, tend to have lower recoil compared to most Assault Rifles (ARs), making them relatively easier to control. The Thompson can be encountered on any map within BGMI as part of regular loot drops. Notably, the Thompson utilizes .45 ACP ammunition, imparting greater damage compared to other SMGs like the UZI or Vector, which rely on 9mm bullets.

Here are some recommended attachments for the Thompson:

  1. Muzzle: Suppressor
  2. Sight: Red Dot Sight
  3. Magazine: Extended Quick Draw Magazine
  4. Foregrip: Vertical Foregrip

Among these attachments, the foregrip and magazine stand out as the most crucial for the Thompson. The vertical foregrip substantially reduces recoil, enhancing weapon stability and facilitating more accurate spraying during mid-range battles. Meanwhile, the Extended Quick Draw Magazine not only boosts magazine capacity from 30 to 50 rounds but also reduces reload time, ensuring uninterrupted firepower.

Key Thompson SMG statistics include:

  • Damage: 40 HP (Hit Points)
  • Fire Rate: 60
  • Magazine Size: 30 (without extended magazine)
  • Stability: 48 (without foregrip)
  • Firing Mode: Auto and Single Tap
  • Reload Time: 3.45 seconds
  • Ammunition: .45 ACP

Even novice players can quickly become proficient with the Thompson SMG when equipped with the recommended attachments. This weapon excels in close-quarters combat due to its generous magazine size and rapid fire rate, granting players a competitive edge in firefights. While SMGs are generally easier for beginners to handle compared to Assault Rifles, it’s advisable for newcomers to practice with the weapon and its attachments to maximize their effectiveness in BGMI.
