In The Sims 4, aspirations are pivotal in defining a Sim’s goals and, ultimately, their personality. These long-term objectives shape the course of a Sim’s virtual life. However, sometimes players might want to change their Sim’s aspirations to better suit their desired gameplay. There are various reasons for this, such as focusing on a Sim’s family life over their career.

To change a Sim’s aspiration, locate the aspiration panel on the bottom right of the screen and click on it. Look for a green star icon at the top right within this panel, and click on it. This action will open a menu containing different aspirations.
From the list of available aspirations, players can select a new one that aligns with their goals for the Sim. Confirm the change by clicking the checkmark at the bottom. Ensure that the selected aspiration’s goals are realistic for the Sim in question.
It’s worth noting that the bonus trait received by a Sim is based on the initial aspiration chosen during character creation. However, completing different aspirations will earn your Sim reward traits.

Additionally, players can change a Sim’s aspirations in Create-A-Sim (CAS) mode. To do this, enable cheats by pressing Ctrl+Shift+C, then enter “testingcheats true.” Afterward, type “cas.fulleditmode” and press Enter. Hold “Shift” while selecting the Sim to enter CAS mode, where you can alter the Sim’s aspirations.
Changing aspirations in The Sims 4 offers players greater flexibility and allows for more diverse storytelling within the game.
