World of Warcraft’s recent “Fractures in Time” update introduced a new mega-dungeon centered around the Infinite Dragonflight, along with bonus quests related to these time-traveling dragons. Among these quests, one had the potential for a more significant impact with a simple tweak.

The Infinite Dragonflight has been a recurring threat, aiming to disrupt the game’s timeline, making them challenging foes to defeat. However, players may have dealt a significant blow in the “Dragonflight” storyline that could prevent these time-hopping dragons from interfering again.

The questline revolves around Eternus, an Infinite dragon who was once a member of the Bronze Dragonflight but turned away from her kind’s traditions. Initially, players speculated that Eternus might be an alternate version of Chromie, a beloved character, but this theory was debunked. Eternus’s story delves into her past and her desire to change history to save her sister, Moraidormi, who was killed by a corrupted Black dragon. Nozdormu, the Bronze Aspect, refuses to alter the past, which leads to Eternus’ anger and departure from the Bronze Dragonflight’s principles.

A poignant twist would have been if Eternus had saved a Bronze dragon whelp during her quest, later revealed to be Chromie. Such a connection would have added depth to the story, emphasizing the importance of Moraidormi’s sacrifice and showcasing the link between Eternus and Chromie, two beloved dragons in World of Warcraft. This change could have resonated emotionally with players and enhanced the quest’s impact.
