Gaijin Entertainment recently announced the availability of the Kings of Battle update for their popular online military action game, War Thunder.
The update introduces a range of new vehicles, including the American MH-60L Black Hawk helicopter, the experimental Soviet missile tank “Objekt 775,” and the Chinese JH-7A fighter-bomber. Notably, the update also brings in modern self-propelled howitzers from NATO and China, marking them as the new ‘kings of battle’ within the game.
In addition to the new vehicles, the War Thunder Kings of Battle update introduces several new mechanics. Planes now incorporate armor-piercing bombs that detonate after penetrating a certain thickness of armor, enabling players to effectively target heavily armored entities such as large warships.
Furthermore, the game now accounts for the damage caused by discarded sabot parts of the APFSDS and APDS tank shells, rather than solely focusing on the core dart. This adjustment requires players to consider the scattering effect when attacking lightly armored objectives, similar to the spray of buckshot from a shotgun.
Lastly, the update includes the incorporation of the highly sophisticated and detailed Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS) known as the JHMCS, used on the F-16C Block 50 and F-16D Block 40 (Barak II).
