Sledgehammer Games Launches Diverse Multiplayer Modes and Teases Future Map Returns in MW3

Sledgehammer Games initiates its debut playlist update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, unveiling the Terminal 24/7 experience alongside the new “Experimental Playlist.” This marks the beginning of reintroducing maps from Modern Warfare 2 and welcomes a platform for trialing potential game enhancements.

November 16 brought about the first of the promised updates for Modern Warfare 3, echoing the return of beloved maps from 2022’s Modern Warfare 2. The campaign of Modern Warfare 3 faced criticism upon early access release on November 2, followed by the full game launch on November 10. While the campaign drew mixed reviews, the multiplayer segment of the game has been positively received, albeit with some reservations regarding skill-based matchmaking.

In a recent Twitter update from Sledgehammer Games, the rollout of the inaugural Modern Warfare 3 playlist update was confirmed. It introduces Terminal 24/7, featuring a 6v6 Mosh Pit mode set in the iconic Modern Warfare 2 map. Additionally, the Modern Warfare 2 Mosh Pit playlist reintroduces Farm 18, Crown Raceway, Shoot House, and Mercado Las Almas maps for dedicated 6v6 gameplay. Future updates are set to bring more Modern Warfare 2 maps to the Modern Warfare 3 arena, although specifics on the schedule remain undisclosed. The Experimental Playlist allows players to test new features, notably introducing colored outlines around operators for enhanced visibility within the game’s maps.

Sledgehammer Games is preparing to collect player feedback through a forthcoming survey, aiming to utilize insights for refining the operator outlines. To stay informed about upcoming hotfixes and adjustments, players can follow the Modern Warfare 3 Trello Board.

Initial reactions to the update on Twitter have been encouraging, with fans expressing anticipation for the modes introduced. Notably, discussions revolve around potential tweaks in time-to-kill, operator health, and overall mobility within the Experimental Playlist, hinting at further innovation and game mode possibilities in Modern Warfare 3.
