Mastering the art of dance in Lethal Company can speak volumes when words won’t cut it. Here’s your guide to conveying messages through dance moves.

In Lethal Company, dance tactics are a powerful form of expression, serving as one of the two available emotes for players. It’s a clever strategy for communication when avoiding a microphone, and it adds an element of enjoyment to gameplay. Whether celebrating a fulfilled quota or strategizing amidst monsters, dancing becomes the language of choice.

This guide aims to equip Lethal Company players with the know-how to perform in-game dances and express their enthusiasm visibly.

How to Dance in Lethal Company

Executing a dance move in Lethal Company is a breeze and takes merely a split second to initiate. Simply press the “1” key on the keyboard shortcuts, and watch your character bust a funny move.

For those wanting to customize the emote button, it’s possible, but it involves tweaking game files rather than accessing in-game settings. While this feature isn’t currently available within the game, developers might include it in forthcoming gameplay updates given their ongoing efforts to enhance gameplay.

Why Dance in Lethal Company?

Dancing serves as a clever workaround when surrounded by monsters and in need of team communication sans a microphone. Since monsters can pick up voice chat, emotions—like the dance emote—become a silent, effective mode of interaction.

Players collaborating in a team can pre-arrange using the dance exclusively during intense gaming scenarios. Yet, there’s also room for playful banter, as players can jest with each other, inducing fear through strategic dance moves. Moreover, dance becomes a canvas for expressing a range of emotions—from fear and joy to arrogance—in a single move, depending on the context.

Regarding emote variety, currently, there’s one dance move available. It involves the character crouching, slightly rising, and gently shaking their arms—a comical sight, especially when the entire team joins in. It’s worth noting that any other action, such as movement or interaction, can interrupt the dance.

As the developers focus on critical aspects of the game during early access, the inclusion of new dances remains uncertain. However, once early access concludes, there’s a possibility that developers may diversify the spectrum of emotions, potentially introducing new dance moves.
