FromSoftware’s Latest Update Adds Competitive Play and Additional Enhancements to Armored Core 6

Fans of Armored Core 6 can look forward to an exciting upgrade with the imminent release of Update 1.05 on December 19. FromSoftware, the developers behind the popular mech game, revealed that this update will usher in a highly anticipated Ranked Matchmaking Mode, promising an enriched multiplayer experience.

In the earlier Update 1.04.1, Armored Core 6 underwent minor alterations, primarily focusing on refining ten weapon units and thirteen frame parts. While this patch aimed to fine-tune lesser-used equipment, the forthcoming Update 1.05 signifies a significant revamp, especially concerning the game’s multiplayer dynamics.

The publisher, Bandai Namco,

Unveiled that the imminent 1.05 update will introduce a ranked mode titled “Fires of Rubicon.” This new feature will enable players to engage in competitive battles. Pitting them against opponents of similar skill levels via an upcoming matchmaking system. Victories will propel players up the ranks, ultimately showcasing the best performers on the leaderboard.

Update 1.05 is expected to bring enhancements like new parts and maps, enriching Armored Core 6’s multiplayer. Official patch notes for Update 1.05 haven’t been released yet. Nevertheless, based on prior updates and speculation, users can anticipate routine balance adjustments to weapons and parts, alongside bug fixes.

As FromSoftware continues to enhance Armored Core 6, reports indicate the studio actively engages in multiple new projects. With recent expansions in their team and the confirmation of simultaneous development of several titles. Details about these projects remain undisclosed. Despite Elden Ring’s anticipated Shadow of Erdtree DLC and ongoing support for AC6. This hints at the possibility of sequels like Bloodborne 2, Elden Ring 2, or even a prospective Armored Core 7. Yet, it remains uncertain if these developments point toward sequels or entirely new franchises in the pipeline.
