Niantic Confirms Rowlet as the Spotlight Pokemon for Pokemon GO’s First Community Day of 2024
The upcoming Pokemon GO Community Day, scheduled for January 6, will spotlight the Grass/Flying-type Rowlet, as confirmed by Niantic and The Pokemon Company. During this short-duration event, players will have the chance to obtain an exclusive move for Rowlet’s final evolution, along with various bonuses available for a limited time.
The ongoing Pokemon GO Season 13: Timeless Travels has recently wrapped up its year-end Community Day event, spanning from December 16 to 17. This event allowed players to capture Pokemon from past 2022 and 2023 Community Days, such as Slowpoke, Chespin, and Fennekin. With an eye on the upcoming year, this event served as an opportunity for trainers to bolster their Pokedex and prepare for the forthcoming events in 2024. The January 2024 Community Day event will return to its traditional monthly format, featuring Rowlet as the star Pokemon.
As per a recent Pokemon GO blog post, the January Community Day event will take place on Saturday, January 6, running from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. Rowlet will spawn more frequently in the wild during this event, increasing the chances of encountering its shiny form. Evolving Dartrix, Rowlet’s evolution, between 2:00 PM and 10:00 PM will yield a Decidueye that knows the Frenzy Plant Charged Attack, alongside the ability to learn the Ghost-type Spirit Shackle move moving forward. Following the event’s conclusion, Gyms will host four-star raid battles featuring Dartrix from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, providing additional opportunities to encounter Rowlet.
