Following player discontent, Epic Games responds to concerns, assuring adjustments to the recently updated Fortnite locker user interface.
Epic Games is responding to the uproar surrounding the recent changes made to Fortnite’s locker UI, acknowledging player dissatisfaction and committing to refining the revamped system. As Fortnite transitioned into Chapter 5, marked by the Chapter 5 Season 1 launch after a brief hiatus, players anticipated substantial shifts, especially with the Big Bang live event announcement of it as a new beginning.
Upon the Chapter 5 Season 1 rollout,
Fortnite introduced several new permanent game modes like LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival. These additions brought a plethora of items and cosmetics, necessitating modifications to the locker interface to accommodate the expanded inventory. Unfortunately, these adjustments led to a disruption in the familiar order within the locker, causing discontent among players.
The most significant grievance stemmed from the removal of cosmetic item rarity backgrounds, which previously helped users easily identify item rarities. Legendary skins no longer boasted a yellow background, and Epic skins lost their distinct purple background. In response to widespread disapproval, Epic Games has assured its community that it’s actively address the feedback and intends to implement corrective changes in forth coming updates.
While recent patches have reinstated specific rarity backgrounds like those for Lava and Icon Series skins, the restoration hasn’t encompassed all rarities, leaving players still facing difficulties in swiftly to find their preferred cosmetics within their Connected rarity groups. Currently, filters remain a viable option for players to stream line their search process, but the ease of finding skins based on their rarity classification remains hindered.
Despite Fortnite exiting early access in 2020, the game’s dynamic nature ensures ongoing evolution. Epic Games remains committed to consistent updates, aiming to enhance player satisfaction by continually refining and improving Fortnite’s user experience.
