Discover the steps to clear the sands of time and earn Mist in Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time.
Disney Dreamlight Valley’s expansion, A Rift in Time, introduces players to the mesmerizing Eternity Isle, comprising three diverse biomes ripe with new resources and surprises. Amidst these landscapes, players equipped with Royal Tools will navigate quests, gather materials, and unravel the Isle’s mysteries. However, navigating the Swirling Sands, a new obstacle, requires specific strategies.
Removing Small Swirling Sands
Upon arriving at Eternity Isle’s Ancient’s Landing biome, players will encounter Small Swirling Sands obstructing paths and treasures. You can remove these obstacles, such as Copper Rocks, using the Royal Hourglass earned by completing “The Flying Metal Nuisance” quest. Approach a Small Swirling Sand with the equipped Hourglass, right-click, or use the interact key. Removing them yields Mist, a crucial crafting currency.
Tip: Distinguish Small Swirling Sands by their fewer rocks compared to Large Swirling Sands, indicating they can be cleared without upgrading the Royal Hourglass.
Removing Large Swirling Sands
To tackle Large Swirling Sands across Eternity Isle, players must upgrade the Royal Hourglass. Post the quest “The Sands in the Hourglass,” access the Timebending Table, and upgrade the Hourglass to Level 1 for 5000 Mist. Upgrading allows occasional discoveries of Ancient Cores while Timebending and unlocks new crafting recipes.
To remove Large Swirling Sands, craft the Large Swirling Sands Hourglass Potion at the Timebending Table under “Special,” using:
- 3000 Mist
- 1 Ancient Core (Level 1)
Note: While using the Royal Hourglass to remove Swirling Sands isn’t a Timebending activity, it doesn’t trigger Mist bonuses from Timebending companions.
Acquiring Mist & Ancient Core (Level 1)
Mist, a vital currency, is primarily obtained through Timebending activities and completing Mist Duties. Upgrading the Royal Hourglass enables the discovery of Ancient Core (Level 1) while Timebending. Further upgrades facilitate the discovery of higher-level Ancient Cores necessary for advanced crafting.
