ACE Entertainment introduces a new farming sim, Tales of Seikyu, blending anime inspired farming with shape shifting mechanics.

ACE Entertainment reveals Tales of Seikyu, an anime inspired farming simulation game that takes a unique twist by incorporating shape shift abilities into game play mechanics. The farming sim genre, popular by Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon, has seen exponential growth, inspiring developers to introduce their takes on the beloved genre. With this new entry, ACE Entertainment infuses mythology and shape shift into the farming simulator landscape.
While franchise like Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley laid the foundation for farming sims, Stardew Valley particularly became a break out success, influencing a wave of modern farming games like Roots of Pacha and Coral Island. Tales of Seikyu aims to evolve the genre further by integrating yokai creatures and abilities into the farming experience.
The game’s announcement trailer offers a glimpse into its unique features,
Showcasing the transformative ability to turn into various animals and creatures for farm work. Players can morph into different beings such as a warthog for soil work or a crow spirit for aerial activities. Beyond farming, the trailer teases cooking, romance, and a complete combat system. Tales of Seikyu will seek funding through Kickstarter, with the campaign set to launch on January 12.
Drawing heavily from Japanese mythology, Tales of Seikyu introduces yokai spirits as integral characters, including tengu crow spirits, seal people, and conversing cranes within the game’s world. The game play offers extensive customization for players to develop their farms, constructing diverse facilities like barns, fields, and sheds. Additionally, the game features a combat system reminiscent of contemporary action RPGs, challenging players against formidable demons.
Among the growing roster of farming simulation games, Tales of Seikyu stands out with its mythological and shape shifting elements. The game aligns with the trend of modern farming sims seeking distinct niches, like Roots of Pacha’s prehistoric theme. Incorporating fantasy setting and mysticism, Tales of Seikyu promises a unique and enchanting experience within the thriving farming simulation genre.
