Three months post-release, the sole DLC for Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty, continues to amaze with over 5 million units sold.

Cyberpunk 2077’s Phantom Liberty DLC has maintained staggering sales, crossing the 5 million mark by December 31, 2023, as announced by CD Projekt Red. This DLC’s consistent success since its September 26 launch highlights its ongoing popularity.
The initial reception of Phantom Liberty was exceptional, earning rave reviews and applause from fans. In its debut week, it reached 3 million sales, setting a strong commercial precedent, which the latest update from CDPR has solidified.
CD Projekt Red’s recent social media update on January 4 revealed that Phantom Liberty hit 5 million units sold within three months of its release. By late November, the DLC had sold 4.3 million units, signaling an extra 700,000 sales by December’s end in 2023.
An earlier CDPR report indicated a 20% attachment rate for Phantom Liberty, meaning one in five base game owners had purchased the $29.99 DLC within two months of its launch. The DLC’s success might be linked to Cyberpunk 2077’s price reductions and the debut of the Ultimate Edition in December.
Sales Progression:
- October 5: 3 million
- November 26: 4.3 million
- December 31: 5 million
Cyberpunk 2077 reached 25 million lifetime sales by October 2023, predominantly on PC and current-gen consoles. The indirect sales breakdown suggests that last-gen console sales were around 3.5 million by late 2023.
Despite its turbulent launch on PS4 and Xbox One, Cyberpunk 2077’s success on PC and current-gen consoles is impressive. CDPR is committed to rectifying past issues for the sequel, code-named Orion, promising a smoother launch in the future.
