Square Enix reveals “Destined for Rebirth,” a new trailer for the highly anticipated “Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.” This action RPG serves as a direct sequel to the 2020 “Final Fantasy VII Remake,” continuing the narrative after Cloud Strife and AVALANCHE’s escape from Midgar. The storyline unfolds as they pursue the former elite SOLDIER Sephiroth, promising an engaging continuation of the beloved Final Fantasy VII saga.

Distinguishing itself from its predecessor, “Final Fantasy VII Rebirth” introduces an expansive open-world environment for players to explore. Players can navigate this vast landscape more easily with the Chocobo Lure Materia, which allows them to summon a Chocobo for convenient travel between locations. To ensure players stay on track, the game incorporates objective markers highlighting both main story quests and ongoing side quests.

Led by veterans Hamaguchi, Toriyama, and Nomura, “Final Fantasy VII Rebirth” is overseen by producer Kitase. The game releases on February 29 exclusively for PlayStation 5, with pre-orders receiving the Moogle Trio Summoning Materia. The game will remain exclusive to the PlayStation 5 until at least May 29, 2024, before expanding to other platforms.
