While the highly anticipated Star Wars video game “Outlaws” hasn’t hit the shelves yet, its lead star is already pondering the possibility of a live-action adaptation and her willingness to take on the challenge.
Despite the numerous Star Wars video game titles released over the years, the franchise has yet to explore the realm of large open-world games – until now. With the upcoming arrival of “Star Wars: Outlaws,” fans can expect an action-adventure experience set in a fully open world, complete with branching dialogue and immersive environments.
The game promises to take players on a journey across vast terrains, engaging in various encounters and utilizing different vehicles. Essentially, “Outlaws” appears to be a Star Wars version of the popular Mass Effect series, sparking excitement among fans.
Much attention has been directed towards the game’s main character, Kay Vess, a roguish figure reminiscent of Han Solo or Jack Sparrow, portrayed by actress Humberly Gonzalez. Although the game hasn’t been released yet, discussions about a potential live-action adaptation have already begun. In a recent interview with The Direct, while discussing her latest film project “Tarot,” Gonzalez was asked about the prospect of reprising her role in a live-action Star Wars project.
She expressed enthusiasm, stating, “Oh absolutely. And I hope they do. Because the story itself is canon. There’s so much to explore. And I feel like people would love her in real life. And yeah, it would be a dream for sure.”

The interview delved further, inquiring about Gonzalez’s preferred canon Star Wars character to interact with as Kay Vess. Her top choice? The iconic villain Darth Vader. Additionally, Gonzalez expressed interest in a potential encounter with Hera Syndulla, a beloved character among fans.
Although it’s still early days for “Outlaws,” the game holds immense potential for adaptation. With fan interest already piqued, the possibility of seeing Kay Vess in a live-action setting is tantalizing. Positioned in a different era of the Star Wars timeline compared to recent live-action Disney+ shows, “Outlaws” offers a fresh perspective without disconnecting from fan favorites.
However, the likelihood of a live-action adaptation remains uncertain, considering Disney’s plans to streamline its projects. Yet, the door remains open for potential adaptations, especially for Disney+ projects.
Despite some early controversies and narrative limitations, “Outlaws” may not revolutionize the Star Wars landscape as expected. Nonetheless, fans remain hopeful for a fulfilling gaming experience upon its release.
The Star Wars franchise is available for streaming on Disney+.
