In Disney Dreamlight Valley’s recent expansion, A Rift in Time, players explore the new Eternity Isle, discovering its diverse biomes and unraveling quests. At the expansion’s core lies the Royal Hourglass—a powerful tool crucial for time manipulation in tasks and treasure hunting.
After acquiring the Royal Hourglass by completing “The Flying Metal Nuisance” quest, players engage with Jafar to learn about its abilities and initiate “The Sands in the Hourglass” quest. This guide offers a step-by-step approach to utilize the Timebending feature and complete the quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time.
Initiating “The Sands in the Hourglass”

Following “The Flying Metal Nuisance” completion and obtaining the Royal Hourglass, players must journey to the broken bridge at The Courtyard in Ancient’s Landing. Using the Hologram Station, players interact with Jafar, commencing “The Sands in the Hourglass” quest.
Quest Completion: The Sands in the Hourglass

At the broken bridge, Jafar instructs players to retrieve three Jewels of Time, starting with the first at the Secluded Beach. To reach the beach, players use the Royal Hourglass to clear Swirling Sands obstructing a stone tunnel. The beach’s Hologram Station provides further guidance on utilizing the Royal Hourglass’s Timebending.
Royal Hourglass: Timebending Mechanics

Equipped through the tool wheel or by pressing “7” on a keyboard, the Royal Hourglass activates Timebending when players press spacebar or X on a controller. It creates a sparkling arc above the character, aiding in locating hidden treasures.
Locating Ancient Statue Fragments & Ancient Plates

Jafar guides players to find two Ancient Statue Fragments and three Ancient Plates using the Royal Hourglass’s Timebending feature. The fragments are discovered by searching the Secluded Beach. The Plates scatter across Ancient’s Landing, positioned near specific points within the biome.
Statue Repair & Returning the Jewel of Time

Players return to Jafar on the Secluded Beach after gathering the required materials. With Jafar’s instructions, players use the Timebending Table, learn the recipe to repair the statue, and craft its missing parts. This action returns the first Jewel of Time to the statue’s hands.
Completion & Further Quests

Completing “The Sands in the Hourglass” allows players to use the Royal Hourglass to gather Mist, repairing anomalies and unlocking further adventures on Eternity Isle. The Mist is used to repair the broken bridge, opening access to new biomes and quests.
